XIX International Scientific and Practical Conference on the Development of Effective Practices for Social and Psychological Assistance to Adolescents and Their Social Environment. April 7-8, 2026
A Non-profit Partnership for the Development of Children and Adolescents ‘Perekrestok Plus’ in collaboration with the HSE Institute of Education & the RANEPA Faculty of Psychology, invite specialists in education, healthcare, and social services, as well as other interested researchers in the field of adolescence, to join the XIX International Conference, ‘An Adolescent in the City’.

Each year, the Non-profit Partnership for the Development of Children and Adolescents ‘Perekrestok Plus’ conducts ‘Adolescent in the City’ conference to discuss various challenges faced by professionals helping young people, as well as the process of growing up and the daily lives of teenagers today.

In 2026, the conference will focus on various aspects of sociality. The spectrum of social relations influences adolescents, enabling us to explore the intricate relationships between them and their environment. These relationships are characterised by uncertainty, insecurity about the future, fragility and fluidity.

Today’s adolescents face the challenge of navigating a fragmented reality, forming social, prosocial, parasocial and occasionally antisocial relationships with parents, teachers, peers, influencers, the city, culture and society at large. Focusing on sociality will enable us to address issues such as a lack of clarity and accuracy in perspectives on growing up, and an increase in unhappiness, mental health issues, conflict, and loneliness. Interdisciplinary dialogue between practitioners and scholars will facilitate the integration of ideas about growing up through the lens of diverse relationships with oneself and others, fostering meaningful collaboration between representatives from education, psychology, medicine, IT, public institutions and non-profit organisations.
